Personal Hoodoo Doll Magickal Terrarium Machine

This is a basic description of Hoodoo Doll construction with a few contemporary developments.

The ancient technique is associated with sympathetic magic, a type of magick based on intimation or correspondence. In this instance, the Doll is identified with the Target of the Spell or Magickal Operation. In many folk-lore and Hollywood productions the Doll is identified with a person other than the conjurer. This other becomes then, the Target of the Operation. In the instance of this Magickal Machine, The Target will be The Conjurer himself or herself. This is a technique often used in Africa.

All Magickal Manifestations begin firstly as impulses of The Soul of the Magician, then become Thought-Forms, then are saturated with emotion and desire, and then are finally clothed in a physical envelope. You now have the Solar impulse, which is demonstrated by you reading this article.

Next you will develop a Thought-Form as a mental picture of yourself in a positive three-dimensional environment, surrounded with objects of Power and Good Luck. You will meditate on this imagery for at least one moon cycle so ensure proper development. You may even take a non-human form of a power animal. Your intuition will be your guide, allowing your Soul to continue influencing the development of your Magickal Machine. As you meditate through the month you will be saturating your Thought-Form with emotion and desire, until you are ready to crystallize the physical form.

A mannequin of some sort is constructed. Any materials can be used. Of course, many traditions of esoteric science stress the use of specific materials in the construction of any magickal tool or machine, and this technique does have its merits. Using Gold or Silver or precocious stones or wood or cloth will have its positive effects on the illusory world of physical matter and in the mind of the magician. But, it is helpful to remember that, as we have mentioned, the worlds of matter are all illusion and what it much more real is the Mind of the Magician and its Thought-Form. Many simple people have constructed mannequins dolls from a stick or simple cloth with powerful, well-known effects. Many traditional conjure-people also fill a cloth doll with desirable herbs and roots and sometimes add a picture of the Target inside or upon the doll. I have developed into making small paper maché stars and painting them to resemble the Target. Remember, The Though-Form is the REAL object.

Next we move into the space surrounding the Target. I have found that this is a particularly useful idea because as we know, the Universe is One Organism, so it is impossible to visualize any object or person without a surrounding environment. This then gives us the opportunity to include our Power objects and Good Luck objects with our self, Inseparable and Protected from damage and even dust. For this last reason, Protection, I use a glass jar or bowl with a strong lid turned upside down to form a protective aura around my Doll of Myself. This then give us also the opportunity to surround ourselves constantly and for ever with veves of the Vudu and other magickal symbols of our choosing.

I usually fill the bottom of the inside of this Magickal Terrerium Machine with salt and semi-precious stones.

After the Terrarium scene is completed and sealed closed the machine can be placed in an auspicious spot upon the Alter. If the Temple area of the Magician is to be considered the Heart or Engine of His or Her Life, and The Alter is the Computer that operates this Engine, then this Personal Hoodoo Magickal Terrarium Machine can be considered an additional micro-processor for the Alter-Computer. The Machine is already composed of matter from a four-dimensional construction, as was explained in the second paragraph of this article, but now it can be re-enforced and enhanced four-dimentionaly by ritual invocation of Loa, Vudu-Gods, and many other sources of energy and power. As this Personal Hoodoo Doll is in reality, YOU, you now can force Purification, Energizing, Development, and any other phenomenon that you desire into yourself by directing all such phenomenon into The Doll.
